AI Essentials: Your First Week with AI is our free first class. It’s designed for complete beginners: if you can send a message on your phone, you can do this class. Here’s what happens inside.

Your mission

When you open the class, you’ll see your mission: have your first real conversations with AI. You’ll learn what AI can and can’t do, how to ask for what you want, and what to keep private. The whole class takes about 35 minutes, and you can pause at any time.

The six steps

StepWhat you do
1. What AI can (and can’t) doLearn what an AI assistant is in plain words, then play Myth or Fact.
2. Your first conversationTry three real tasks in a free AI assistant: rewrite a rude message, plan dinner and get a simple explanation.
3. Ask better, get betterLearn a simple 4-part formula for better answers, then build a better prompt yourself.
4. When AI gets it wrongSpot made-up facts, outdated information and bias, and learn a 3-second check.
5. Stay safeKnow what never to share with AI, and set up simple privacy habits.
6. Quiz and your 7-day planPass a short quiz, then get a 7-day plan to make AI part of your week.

You learn by doing

Most steps include a quest: copy a ready-made prompt, send it to any free AI assistant (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Microsoft Copilot all work), and paste the answer back. You’ll see for yourself how useful AI can be, and how to keep the conversation going until the answer is just right.

Points, stars and your certificate

Each step you pass earns points, and every challenge gives you up to three stars. Do well and you might find a mystery box with bonus points. Pass every step and the quiz, and your certificate is ready, with your name, the date and its own ID, plus a button to add it to LinkedIn.

After the class

Small steps beat big plans. Your 7-day AI starter plan gives you one 5-minute AI task a day, so the habit sticks after the class ends.
